Der Verdeckdeckelmotor ist nicht korrekt eingestellt und deshalb schließt der Deckel nicht richtig. Da hier schon Autos wegen defekter Benzinpumpen oder schlechtem Scheibenkleber geschlachtet werden, war das sicher ein triftiger Grund die Karre los zu werden.

as for the cabrio...i like hardtops better. someone on the street offered me very good money for her, so she's sold. the arm for the power top was broken when that picture was taken.

 

we still have many nice e30s in our junkyards....many because of bad fuel pumps or broken timing belts. shame.

This E30 - if it is this I think about - is one of the very last E30, also called "Last Edition". White leather, white interior, M-Technic II packet and so on .... I saw one, which were sold for over 15.000 Euro's. (15.500-16.000 USD). Nice you like E30's - and good for you, you live in a warm place in the United States - no rust! (Big problem here in Germany ). Hope you find your parts and take some good experience back home later

 

And btw: I think its so amazing that people in the USA loves E30's so much as germans! I always thought, americans hated german cars and only drive musclecars with V8 bigblocks ...

This is no "show and shine" event, just a couple of e30 enthusiasts, who come together to exchange their knowledge and some parts and have a good time.

the e30 group is HUGE in california. it has become very popular in the last two years. e28s are just becoming popular too...they sell for really cheap, but we only had the 528e and 535i.

nope, those sportmodels were not meant for the european market, thus we dont know a 325is here.

but does your 325is really got a technical performance upgrade compared to the normal 325i?

i thought those 325is, with a real perfomance boost from 125KW to 155KW and 2700ccm were only sold in South Africa and the "S" in the USA just indicated a 2-door sedan ("coupe") with sportbodykit and M-Technic suspension, but not better engine characteristics?!

Nice to know. You can be glad you "only" have the big models like 528e (525e in Germany) or the 535i. But the 518i, 520i, 525i and 528i are wonderfull machines too - every e28 is wonderfull

 

The american 325is is the german 325i - in Europe, we have other sport models like the 320is (2.0 liter M3 engine, 16 valves - only for Italy and Portugal (Italy and Portugal had a luxury tax, which was very expensive for car owners, which got a car with more than 2000ccm - so the M3 engine was downsized)) or the 318is (M42 engine, 4 cyl., 16 valves) - and of course the legendary M3 :D

 

Your bimmer have very nice rims! These are fitting good on an oldschool E30;-)

no extra power, mostly appearance/comfort. the sports came with power everything, 13 BC, light mirror, sport seats, LSD (4.10 or 3.73), and premium sound. we never had the m40/4 engines (thank god), only m10, m20 (b25/b27) and m42.

thank you! we have both the 325i and 325is, although the sport is a little uncommon. all of our facelift 318s had m42s. no m40b18 stuff :P

 

did the 88 eta have the 8.5 CR/885 head here? we never got the high CR non-kat pistons like you did here. i'd love to take a set back.

Some parts are rare in Germany too, like the M-Technik items or the headlight wiper kit - it will not be easy to get all you items on your wishlist:-D But good luck!! Btw I have an analog clock - but I live arround 1000km away from Munich
