We see a tangle of cables, no coment of wehat it is, we get a question in the headline and you expect a reasonable answer?

Where the wires come out of the wiring harness indicates the area of the thermostat housing. The ETA has several sensors or switches installed there.

 

Unfortunately the cable color is not clearly visible, if it is brown/white or brown/purple then it should be for the coolant temperature sensor for the instrument cluster.

 

There are also differences in the years of manufacture. See the attached image below.
