  1. Hi folks. I apologize for my English, I'm not fluid with German. Just wanted to inform you that I apparently almost fell for this same trick earlier today. I put my BMW 850 for sale on my local website, got an answer from some guy called "Steven John" with VERY bad English... he asked basic details and wanted to buy the car right away for full price! Didn't comment on the few flaws or anything. Wanted to pay with Paypal... OK. Got "verification" messages from "Paypal"...alright. Then I had to pay the shipping fees, MYSELF, through the Western Union, then send a scanned copy of the receipt from this transaction to the previous Paypal's message, in order to get the funds moved to my account... WHAT?! Being a stupid idiot, I actually paid the price. After preparing to scan and send the papers, I was surprised to see one of these "Paypal" messages in my email's junk-mail bin. I "took it out", examined it closer... there was actually typos? Then I noticed the odd address. Then I sent the whole email to REAL Paypal's phising detection service, and what'dya know: all the previous mails were FAKE! Asked this "Steve" about this, twice, and he just kept repeating the same old "it's not me getting the money, Paypal needs it! please do the transfer quick, thanks!" -song. Later literally calling him a lying criminal, and he went all silent. I should've realized this from the very first messages as well, as he never quite answered to my own questions or problems I reported, only tried to push the payment. Contacted WU instantly through their own anti-theft site and then by phone, and they got the money "locked up" from this "Steve John" guy. I should be getting my money back tomorrow once I visit their office again. Last nail in the coffin was when I googled some of the terms and email addresses, and found this forum and OP's post. His tale was 1:1 to mine! Thank you for saving me from this scam! Be careful out there bros! Don't trust suspicious British guys who want to pay with Paypal!
