thanks for the advice. i've heard the same about the nordschleife. i think i will still visit it on saturday and try to get a passenger seat, but i'm 90% sure i'll make it to hockenheim! i'll PN you my mobile # in the morning. and also, i'll call ahead. obviously, i don't really know the customs here. in the US, everything is still self-service.

yeah, i'd still like to go to a junkyard just to see what's there, not necessarily even BMW. i go often in the US and am just interested to see. will europcar get me in trouble if i try to take their car for a lap on the nordschleife?

no extra power, mostly appearance/comfort. the sports came with power everything, 13 BC, light mirror, sport seats, LSD (4.10 or 3.73), and premium sound. we never had the m40/4 engines (thank god), only m10, m20 (b25/b27) and m42. i would LOVE to see your car sometime. i'll be here most days from now until mid september. i'm setting up a mobile/handy tomorrow. aber es ist nicht original. ich baute es in meiner garage. wow, SO many things to do here! thank you all for the suggestions! thank you! we have both the 325i and 325is, although the sport is a little uncommon. all of our facelift 318s had m42s. no m40b18 stuff :P did the 88 eta have the 8.5 CR/885 head here? we never got the high CR non-kat pistons like you did here. i'd love to take a set back.

the e30 group is HUGE in california. it has become very popular in the last two years. e28s are just becoming popular too...they sell for really cheap, but we only had the 528e and 535i. my e30 is a '325is'....was there no sport model in europe? perfect! i think i'm heading up to n-ring on weds, so i'll see if i can make it by! sorry boys..

thank you for the heads up! as for the cabrio...i like hardtops better. someone on the street offered me very good money for her, so she's sold. the arm for the power top was broken when that picture was taken. we still have many nice e30s in our junkyards....many because of bad fuel pumps or broken timing belts. shame.
