Okay, but how about building a battery door by yourself? It´s not very difficult! I´ve seen some Guys who built them by thereselfs, they made it out of wood, and after that they put some original carpet on it! Looks like its built from BMW... think about it!

Well I decided to paint the wheel centres in Black but as sometimes happens I kind of regret it now.

Going to give it a few days, see if they grow on me but not looking good at the moment.

Just to help you a little bit getting over the things you regret.

Since 30 years I buy new rims for the cars I´ve owned, and we´re talking about app. 30 different cars. Between 2 and 3 after they´re installed I regret it because I see different rims I would like more or the one I choosed don´t look the way I expected.

But after a while and after some cheering words of friends and other people I stick with my decision.

You will allways find something to critizise on your decision afterwards but if you do this you´ll never enjoy life.

So be happy with the painted centers, the colors are a good contrast, black an red with the shiny silver edge

On your pictures it looks good

I think black centers are really hard to pull through, but in your case they look quite decent. It fits the shadow line and black accents on your car, and with the polished rim they have something to stand out. Also, since they're only 5-spoke, the black looks a lot better than on multispokes/basket weave wheels.

Rims are all down to personal taste, so I cannot comment free of my own prejudices ;) In general I like the combination of black rim, polished silver rim base and a red car.

The thing I don't like is the rim itself, the Borbet A. If those were multi-spoke rims, painted in black with polished rim base, it'd be looking perfect to me ;)

Nevertheless that's a beautiful car, treat it with care and let it live for a long time :)

Thank you for the kind comments.

Mandrake I agree with you about the Borbet A style.I have never liked them myself but I do like the dish and as they cost me next to nothing I thought id make some use out of them.

I have always liked the look of Brock B1 wheels so am tempted to find a set of those instead and get rid of the Borbet.

  • 2 Wochen später...

Finally fitted my M3 LSD today.

Only took it for a short drive to check for noises but all good as expected :D

Borbets are off for good now and BBS back on.

I am on the look out for some more 16`s but it does drive nice on the 15`s thats for sure.

Next up is to order the eccentric bolt kit so I can get the new rear beam fitted.

Spec of the wheels..

They are Brock B1 8.5J x 17" , 4 x 100 PCD with 57.1 bore.

The fronts have an offset of ET35 with no dish.

The rears have an offset of ET13 with a deep dish.

Front tyres are Toyo Proxes T1-S 205/40 ZR17.

The rear tyres are Toyo Proxes T1-S 215/40 ZR17.

Bit of archwork going to be required on the lips as previous owner had occasional rubbing but his car is a lot lower than mine so time will tell really.

Cant wait to get them on http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

You will need spacers at the front axle. Offset 13 is the right size, otherwise the wheel will hit the strut.

Spacers for the front wheels are being included in the sale from previous owner.

Think he said they are 10mm.

You will see what I mean when you put the wheels on your car.

The ones with offset 13 would fit both front and rear. The ones with offset 35 will need at least 20mm spacers. 10mm is not enough.

The only way these wheels were driven on a E30, is to put the offset 13 at the front axle and the o. 35 with the spacers at the rear axle.

But this would look poor, because of the dishes.

Sorry I made a typing mistake. They are supplied with the correct 20mm spacers for the front.

A bit too modern are they Slothic? ^^

@ Evo, I really hope the 20mm spacers are not gonna "ruin" the front axle's stiffness.....I have to use 15mm spacers for my rims and I get occasional vibrations at certain speeds in the steering wheel. I'm trying to solve the problem with a new steering rack from an e46, but as others have pointed out on this very forum, the e30 react a bit nervously on spacers in the front.

Looking forward to pictures from the new rims on your car :)
